Brazil: Wholesale prices of chicken remain high in November
The production adjustment carried out by chicken farming during the second half of the year was a fundamental factor in the resumption of the upward trend in chicken meat prices in the domestic market. In fact, this movement has persisted in recent weeks, intensified during the period marked by the peak of consumption in the domestic market.
The current situation points to the continuation of this movement in the short term. Demand indicators are favorable at this time, as production remains adjusted. The expectation is that this movement will continue in the short term.
Maintaining the production adjustment is of great relevance, considering that the consumption profile changes substantially during the first quarter, with the population dealing with traditional expenses, such as the purchase of school supplies and payment of several taxes.
In any case, the recent reduction was beneficial to the sector, which has recovered its operating margins after a very complicated period between May and June. With regard to exports, performance remains very healthy, Brazil still plays a prominent role among its peers, being the best global alternative for supplying chicken meat.
