Brazil soybean outlook 2021/22 improved in sown area, production
The soybean sown area in Brazil is projected by Conab 3.5% larger in the 2021/22 season, at 40.3 mln ha. Soybean production is expected at 142 mln t, 3.4% up from 2020/21.
Conab analysts forecast soybean production in Brazil in 2020/21 at 137.32 mln t. Brazil’s soybean outlook for 2020/21:
- import: 900 thou. t
- export: 84.42 mln t
- loss: 3.47 mln t
- ending stocks: 7.38 mln t
The Brazilian government’s food supply and statistics agency projects that soybean production in the country will reach 142.01 mln t in 2021/22. Brazil’s soybean outlook for 2021/22:

- export: 89.92 mln t
- loss: 3.61 mln t
- ending stocks: 9.3 mln t
The USDA in its November report forecast soybean production in Brazil in 2021/22 at 144 mln t (2020/21: 138 mln t).
As of 11 November, soybean production in Ukraine came to 3.33 mln t on 1.26 mln ha, 99% of the projected area. Soybean yielded 2.64 t/ha on average in Ukraine.
