Brazil expands beef exports to Indonesia
Indonesia has expanded the list of approved Brazilian beef and beef by-product suppliers by authorizing another 21 plants. This brings the total number of eligible Brazilian facilities from 52 to 73.
The newly approved plants are located across 10 Brazilian states. The decision followed an on-site audit conducted by Indonesian sanitary authorities in coordination with Brazil’s Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock.
Indonesia is becoming an increasingly important market for Brazilian beef. In 2025, Brazil shipped 31.5 thsd tons to the country, while exports reached 17.5 thsd tons in the first half of 2026.
Shipments of beef by-products are also growing. In January–June 2026, Brazil exported 21.2 thsd tons of these products to Indonesia, making it the second-largest market for Brazilian beef by-products.
The approval of additional plants creates room for further growth in Brazilian exports to Indonesia. For Indonesia, the move also expands import options to help meet rising domestic meat demand.
