Brazil’s soybean exports are estimated to have reached 14.05 mln tons in June 2026, slightly exceeding the 13.93 mln tons shipped in the same month last year, according to vessel line-up data compiled by Safras & Mercado. Shipments are expected to seasonally decline to 9.49 mln tons in July after peaking at 15.3 mln tons in May.

From January through July 2026, Brazilian soybean exports are projected to total 82.13 mln tons, reinforcing the country’s position as the world’s leading soybean exporter. By comparison, Brazil exported 64.95 mln tons between January and June 2025.

China remains the largest buyer of Brazilian soybeans. According to Datamar, about 71% of Brazil’s soybean exports in January–April 2026 were shipped to China. However, exports to the Chinese market during that period declined by nearly 7% compared with a year earlier.

Despite softer Chinese demand, Brazil continues to benefit from strong competitiveness driven by high crop yields, solid global demand, and efficient port infrastructure. These factors are helping the country maintain exceptionally high export volumes.

Analysts expect Brazil to remain the world’s largest soybean exporter throughout 2026, with export volumes staying robust despite the usual seasonal fluctuations in shipments.
