Beef and soybeans are among Uruguay’s top three exports
Uruguay’s agricultural exports brought in US$1,182 million in September, 14% more than in the same month of the previous year, as reported by Uruguay XXI.
Beef exports were slightly behind last year’s September, bringing in US$162 million, but remained the second largest category after pulp exports of US$260 million. Soybean exports, recovering from last year’s drought, posted a strong increase to US$164 million.
However, exports of meat by-products fell 30 percent to US$31 million.
From January through September, the total value of exports reached US$1,888 million, with beef and soybeans contributing significantly to this figure.
