Bangladesh: Government approves proposal for procuring wheat on G2G basis
The government on May 20 approved a proposal in principle for procuring wheat on G2G basis to meet the country’s growing demand following the section 68 (1) of the Public Procurement Act, 2006 and Section 76 (2) of the Public Procurement Rules, 2008.
The government also decided in principle to reduce the timeframe of procurement process of wheat through international tender following the Section 83 (1) (Ka) of the Public Procurement Rules, 2008.
The decision was taken at the 15th meeting of the Advisers Council Committee on Economic Affairs held with Finance Adviser Dr Salehuddin Ahmed in the chair at Bangladesh Secretariat May 20.
