Azerbaijan has significantly increased its wheat purchases
In January of this year, Azerbaijan imported 129,933 tons of wheat worth $28.87 million.
According to Report calculations based on data from the State Statistics Committee, this represents a 54% increase in value and a 50% increase in quantity compared to the same period in 2025.
During the reporting period, Azerbaijan purchased 83,613 tons of wheat from Russia (an increase of 3 times) worth $18.97 million (a threefold increase compared to the previous year) and 46,320 tons from Kazakhstan (a decrease of 21%) worth $9.9 million (a decrease of 19%).
In 2025, of the 1,267,322 tons of wheat imported to Azerbaijan, 52.26% came from Kazakhstan and 47.73% from Russia.
