Australia exports 2.1Mt wheat, durum in February
Australia exported 2,085,287 tonnes of wheat and durum in February, according to the latest data from the Australian Bureau of Statistics.
In containerised sales, Thailand on 42,688t was the biggest market, followed by Vietnam on 33,592t and Indonesia on 30,343t.
On bulk, The Philippines on 460,877t, Indonesia 307,188t and Thailand on 306,449t were the major markets for February shipments, which also included a 52,500t cargo of durum to Algeria.
The February 2025 figure is below the 2.29 million tonnes (Mt) shipped in February 2024.
According to Lachstock Consulting’s most recent Australian Export Vessel Line-ups summaries, Australia is expected to ship 2.53Mt of wheat in April, following on from 2.39Mt seen for March.
