Argentina revises sunflower seed production forecast for 2025/26 MY
The Buenos Aires Grain Exchange (BAE) forecasts Argentina’s sunseed harvest for the 2025/26 season to be 6.4 million tonnes, approximately 200,000 tonnes higher than previously estimated, following upward revisions to planted area estimates.
According to the exchange, 61.1% of the sunseed harvest has been harvested.
Argentina is a major global exporter of sunflower oil.
The exchange maintained its forecasts for soybean and corn production in Argentina for 2025/26 unchanged, at 48.5 million tonnes and 57 million tonnes, respectively.
According to the Department of Agriculture of Argentina, farmers harvested 15.2% of the corn crop.
The soybean harvest will begin in April.
