Argentina processed the minimum amount of soybeans in 12 years
In August, Argentine oil extraction companies processed about 2.1 mln tonnes of soybeans, which is 485 thsd tonnes lower than the previous month. Such data was released by the national industrial chamber CIARA-CEC.
In general, since the beginning of this year (January-August), the local mills processed 19.6 mln tonnes of soybeans against 26.7 mln tonnes in the same period of 2022. The current result is the lowest in the last 12 years, as the country harvested the least oilseeds during the last harvesting campaign almost since the beginning of the century.
As for sunflower, on the contrary, there is an increase in the processing of the oilseed to a record level of 2.9 mln tons from January to August. In particular, according to CIARA-CEC, Argentina processed 404 thsd tonnes of seeds in the last month of summer.
