Argentina has achieved a record corn harvest in the 2025/26 season. According to the Secretariat of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries of the Ministry of Economy, total corn production reached 71.5 mln tons, the highest level ever recorded. More than 75% of the projected harvest area has already been harvested.

A key driver behind the record output was the significant expansion of planted area. Corn acreage increased from 9.2 mln to 11.6 mln hectares, up 26.1% from the previous season, substantially boosting the country’s production potential.

Average yields also improved, rising from 6.9 to 7.24 tons per hectare nationwide compared with the 2024/25 season. Higher productivity, together with the expansion in planted area, supported the record harvest.

Argentina’s Ministry of Economy said the combination of favorable growing conditions, larger planted area and improved yields enabled the country to achieve its biggest corn crop on record. The result is expected to strengthen Argentina’s position among the world’s leading corn producers and exporters.
