Analysts named the main buyers of Ukrainian wheat in February
The Ukrainian wheat market remains subdued due to limited export activity and weak shipment rates. The main export volume in February is directed to the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) countries, which is becoming a key factor supporting the market. This is reported by Spike Brokers.
The largest buyers of Ukrainian wheat were Egypt, which imported 143 thousand tons, and Algeria with a volume of 109 thousand tons. At the same time, the geography of exports remains limited, which increases dependence on a small number of sales markets.
Due to difficulties with product sales, total wheat exports in the 2025/26 season may decrease to 11 million tons. This will lead to the formation of transitional balances at the level of about 6 million tons, which will create a comfortable balance at the beginning of the 2026/27 season.
Despite weak demand, prices for Ukrainian wheat show a slight increase. The cost of wheat with a protein content of 11.5% increased to $216/t (+2$/t), and feed wheat to $210/t (+1$/t).
