Algeria held a tender for the purchase of wheat
On September 23, the Algerian state-owned company OAIC held a tender for the purchase of at least 50,000 tons of soft wheat of any origin, according to the Zerno On-Line news agency, citing European traders.
The purchase price was $259-261 per ton on a cash and freight basis. Negotiations are still ongoing, and the exact purchase volume is still unknown.
Under the tender terms, wheat shipments will take place between November 1-15 and November 16-30 if the wheat is of European or Black Sea origin. For wheat shipments from South America or Australia, the deadline is shifted forward by one month.
