The agricultural trade turnover between Ukraine and France reached $750 million in 2024. Ukraine exported corn, rapeseed, sunflower oil, and honey to France.

This was announced by Vitaliy Koval, Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine, during an online meeting with his French counterpart, Anne Genevar.

According to the information, Ukraine exported corn, rapeseed, sunflower oil, and honey to France. Imports from France included agricultural machinery, seeds, and plant protection products.

During the meeting, the parties discussed the prospects for Ukrainian-French cooperation in the agricultural sector, particularly in the context of Ukraine’s European integration.

Koval noted that amid the active phase of negotiations with the European Commission, France’s experience and support are crucial.

The minister proposed to organize meetings of experts from the agricultural departments of both countries to speed up the implementation of European standards in Ukrainian legislation.

Koval also briefed Geneva on the results of the Ukrainian delegation’s visit to Syria and called on France to join the Presidential initiative “Grain from Ukraine” aimed at ensuring food security in the Middle East.

Annie Genevar reaffirmed France’s solidarity with Ukraine and expressed readiness to support it in implementing European standards. In particular, France plans to send experts to work on sanitary and phytosanitary standards, as well as animal welfare.

The intensification of cooperation between Ukraine and France in 2024 demonstrates the strengthening of the partnership between the two countries in the agricultural sector, which contributes to Ukraine’s integration into the European market.

We would like to add that from January to November 2024, Ukraine’s foreign trade reached $101.9 billion. Imports of goods amounted to $63.6 billion, while exports amounted to $38.3 billion.
