Agricultural exports from Ukraine exceed last year’s figures by 21.5% – expert

Exports of agricultural products from Ukraine from January to September 2019 grew by 21.5%, or $2.8 billion, compared to the same period last year, Deputy Director of the Institute of Agrarian Economics Mykola Puhachov has said.
"According to the State Statistics Service of Ukraine, exports of agricultural products in January-September 2019 amounted to $15.8 billion. That exceeded the respective figure for the first nine months of 2018 by $2.8 billion, or 21.5%," the institute's press service quoted him as saying.
Puhachov noted that grain and oilseeds, oil, residues and waste, as well as meat, are decisive in the commodity structure of domestic agricultural exports. Their total share is about 85%.
According to the scientist, three regions remain the main markets for Ukraine – Asia, the European Union and Africa. In general, they account for over 90% of the value of Ukrainian agricultural exports, he said.
