A second ship with Ukrainian grain arrived in Algeria
BC CALLISTO bulk carrier delivered 30.5 thousand tons of food wheat to the African country.
This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine.
The ship covered the route from the port of Chornomorsk to the port of Algiers in 25 days. Of these, for 14 days the ship with Ukrainian food remained in the Bosphorus awaiting inspection by the Joint Coordination Center.
“Our port services are doing everything possible to speed up cargo processing. For example, we loaded the BC CALLISTO in 3 days, but then the vessel waited in the Bosphorus for two weeks. There are more than a hundred such examples.
The problem lies in the insufficient number of inspection teams. The UN and Turkey support the need to increase the number of inspectors, as such a delay is a matter of both food safety and traffic safety in the Bosphorus,” commented Yurii Vaskov, Deputy Minister of Infrastructure of Ukraine.
