A “real” container vessel calls at a Ukrainian port for the first time since the beginning of the war
The volume of container traffic in the ports of Greater Odesa is gradually increasing – on April 21, a real container vessel Pros Hope docked at the berth of one of the terminals. This is the first time such a vessel has entered our harbor since the beginning of the full-scale war.
It should be noted that previously containers with cargoes were delivered to the ports of Greater Odesa not by specialized vessels, but by so-called feeders adapted for their transportation.
Two feeder container ships operated by a Ukrainian company, T Mare and T Moon, have been operating on the line connecting Chornomorsk with the Turkish port of Yalova and the Romanian city of Constanta since early April.
Pros Hope is a clean container ship built in 2005 in Romania at the Vard Tulcea shipyard. The vessel is 148 meters long and 24 meters wide. The container ship is operated by the German company Interorient Marine Services.
It is interesting that the Pros Hope container ship came to us from Zhuhai, China, without calling at other ports.
