USDA increased the forecast of sunflower oil exports from Ukraine to 5 mln tons

The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) has increased the estimate of sunseed production and its products in Ukraine in MY 2024/25.
This is evidenced by the data in the USDA report for December.
Thus, the sunseed harvest is forecasted at 12.9 mln tonnes, up 0.4 mln tonnes from the previous estimate. Experts left the forecast of oilseed exports at 230 thsd tonnes.
According to the experts, Ukraine will produce 5.398 mln tonnes of sunflower oil in MY 2024/25 (+172 thsd tonnes), of which 5 mln tonnes (+175 thsd tonnes) will be exported.
The production of the meal will amount to 5.183 mln tonnes (+165 thsd tonnes), while the export is forecast at 4.1 mln tonnes (+175 thsd tonnes).
Experts forecast the global sunseed harvest at 50.512 mln tonnes (+68 thsd tonnes compared to the previous month’s forecast), oil production – 19.957 mln tonnes (+42 thsd tonnes), sunflower meal – 21 mln tonnes (+36 thsd tonnes).
