2024/25 Argentina Soybean Estimate Unchanged at 49.0 Million Tons
The 2024/25 Argentina soybean estimate was left unchanged this week at 49.0 million tons with a lower bias going forward.
Rainfall last week favored western and northwestern Argentina with some weekend rain in southeast La Pampa and southwestern Buenos Aires. Most of the country remained dry last week. The forecast is calling for rain in south-central areas mid-week which should improve soil moisture. Dryness will continue to build across northern areas and temperatures will remain warm.
Soybean planting is complete in Argentina. Approximately 50% of the early planted soybeans are flowering and setting pods and 6% of the double crop soybeans are flowering. Nationwide, 29% of the soybeans are filling pods. Soybeans in the northern core region are the most advanced with 55% filling pods.
Soybeans in Argentina were rated 28% poor/very poor, 52% fair, and 20% good/excellent as of late last week. The good/excellent percentage is down 2% for the week. Soil moisture for soybeans is rated 42% short/very short and 58% favorable optimum. The favorable/optimum percentage is up 3% for the week.
