2024/2025 Argentina Soybean Estimate Unchanged 50 Million Tons

The 2024/2025 Argentina soybean estimate was left unchanged this week at 50 million tons with a neutral to higher bias.
Soybeans in Argentina were 23.6% harvested compared to 35% last year which represents an increase of 9.1% for the week. First crop soybeans were 12% harvested and double crop soybeans were 2% harvested. Nationwide yields averaged 3,300 kg/ha (49.17 bu/ac) which is above expectations, especially in Cordoba and Entre Rios. Harvest progress was slowed but the yields are coming in above expectations. Early results of soybean harvest in northern Argentina is better than expected. All this points to the possibility that the Argentine soybean estimate may increase in the future.

The 2024/2025 Argentina soybeans were rated 22% short to very short, 39% fair and 39% good to excellent. The good to excellent percentage was down 4% percentage points from the prior week. Soil moisture for the soybeans is rated 11% short to very short and 88% favorable/optimum. The favorable/optimum percent is up one point from the prior week.
