Ukraine boosted rapeseed exports to the EU by 28.5%
April’s rapeseed exports from Ukraine totaled 4.9 KMT that is the smallest volume this season and an 11-year low for this month.
Meanwhile, 2487.5 MMT of rapeseed was exported in July-April 2018/19, up 18.7% year-on-year, reports UkrAgroConsult.
The EU continues to be the biggest importer with a market share of 88%. It increased purchases by 28.5% from last year due to a rapeseed crop decline in Europe.
In MY 2018/19, Ukraine exported rapeseed to Mexico for the first time ever and resumed shipments to countries such as the U.S., Lithuania, Moldova, Romania, Spain and Greece. Growth in exports to major markets: Germany (+72%), Belgium (+68%), France (+189%).
Slumps in Ukraine’s exports to the following countries: The Netherlands (-74%), Pakistan (-51%), Bangladesh (-71%).
