Ukraine cuts grain exports through Constanta by 40%
The Port of Constanta Authority reported that shipments of Ukrainian grain from the port decreased by 38% in January. This indicates that Ukraine is more actively using its own ports.
In January, 436 thousand tons of Ukrainian grain transited through the port, while in the same month last year, the transit amounted to 700 thousand tons.
Romanian traders are concerned that the established export routes will be lost. At the same time, market analysts believe that the transit volumes will resume in the spring.
Thus, Caesar Gheorghe from the consulting company on the Romanian grain market AGRIColumn explained that currently there is a lull in the market, as Ukrainian farmers are holding back grain sales at the current low prices, but exports should resume in March-April.
