The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has allocated funds for the purchase of wheat or corn to be shipped to African countries. This was announced by Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal at a government meeting on March 21.

“In the field of international cooperation, we are also approving a resolution today to continue and provide the necessary funding for the President’s initiative Grain from Ukraine. Our country remains one of the guarantors of global food security. Just this week, another ship with 30 thousand tons of humanitarian wheat was shipped to Yemen. We are allocating the necessary funds to ensure that the initiative continues,” he said.

According to the Prime Minister, these funds will be used to purchase 125 thousand tons of wheat or corn, which will then be delivered as humanitarian cargo to African countries.

“In total, Ukraine has already shipped more than 25 million tons of agricultural products through the Black Sea ports as part of the grain initiative. And we expect not only to continue but also to expand this project,” he added.
