Ukraine already exported more 2M tonnes of grain within the Black Sea grain initiative

The Joint Coordination Center (JCC) allowed six vessels to leave Ukrainian ports during the weekend within the framework of the Black Sea Grain Initiative. This was reported to the UN.

“The SCC authorized the departure of six vessels transporting a total of 87,442 tons of grain and other food products within the Black Sea grain initiative,” the message reads.

The UN established that the ships Irmgard (27,500 tons of wheat and 7,179 tons of corn) and New Levant (26,500 tons of wheat) were headed to Turkey, and the ship Queen Sara (11,000 tons of corn) was headed to Egypt.  The Vitis ship will deliver 5.8 thousand tons of edible oil to Italy, the Ocmis Adventure will go to Greece with 4,862 tons of corn, and the Oris Princess ship will go to Israel with 4,510 tons of sunflower meal.

Earlier it was reported that more than 1.5 million tons of Ukrainian food were exported in August as part of the Black Sea Grain Initiative.

In Istanbul, on July 22, with the participation of the UN, Ukraine, Turkey and Russia, two documents were signed on the creation of a corridor for the export of grain from three Ukrainian ports – “Chornomorsk”, “Odesa” and “South”.
