World sugar consumption will increase by almost 2%
International analysts at The Economist expect global sugar consumption to increase by 1.8% in the 2024/25 MY and by 1.7% in the 2025/26 MY, which is higher than the average of 0.8% in 2018-23.
This increase is explained by the decline in world sugar prices and the strengthening of the global economy. In November, in annual terms, world prices for raw sugar decreased by 21%, and for white sugar – by 27%.World sugar consumption will increase by almost 2%
