World Bank to allocate $50 million for power generators for Ukrainian grain elevators

Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food Mykola Solskyi announced this at a press briefing at the Media Center Ukraine – Ukrinform.
“$50 million – this amount will be spent on a program under which all grain elevators can obtain new power generators for a total sum of up to UAH 5 million, or switch to LPG [ boilers],” the minister said.
Solskyi noted that under this program, the cost of a power generator or a boiler will be partially reimbursed.
The minister added that, in addition to the program to support the energy efficiency of grain elevators, the World Bank has allocated $100 million for the purchase of wheat and corn for the countries of Asia and Africa for 2023.
As Ukrinform reported, Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food Mykola Solskyi in December 2022 announced a program on reimbursing the cost of installing power generators or solid fuel boilers at grain elevators. The Ministry of Agrarian Policy expects the program will be launched in January 2023.
