Winter rapeseed sowing areas in Germany increased by 2.3%
According to the Federal Statistical Office of Germany, in 2025, the area sown with winter rapeseed in the country increased by 2.3% compared to the previous year to 1.11 million hectares, which will allow it to become the second largest rapeseed producer in Europe.
France will become the leader in rapeseed cultivation, where almost 1.27 million hectares have been sown with oilseed for the 2025 harvest. In total, 5.8 million hectares of area will be allocated for rapeseed in the EU in 2025.
The increase in rapeseed cultivation indicates its central role in 2025 in Germany’s future-oriented agriculture.
