Winter crop sowing is proceeding at a rapid pace in France
 
        				        			According to the state agency FranceAgriMer, 68% of the planned area for winter soft wheat had been sown in France by October 27, exceeding the same date a year ago (38%) and the average for the past five years (61%).
Wheat has emerged on 39% of the area (15% on the same date a year ago and 31% on average for the past five years).
Winter barley sowing is also ahead of last year and the average. By October 27, 80% of the planned area had been sown with barley (58% and 76%). Seedlings had emerged on 39% (28% and 45%) of the area.
Meanwhile, the corn harvest continues in the country. 82% (36% and 74%) of the area planted to this crop has already been threshed.
