US soybean processing hits record high in July
According to the National Oilseed Processors Association (NOPA), U.S. soybean processing exceeded expectations in July 2025, reaching a new monthly high of 5.6 million tons. This is 4.3% higher than June (5.37 million tons) and 6.5% higher than July 2024 (5.26 million tons). Total soybean processing since the beginning of the season also set a record, amounting to 61.2 million tons, which is 6.3% higher than the same period in the 2023/24 marketing year (57.6 million tons).
Despite the increase in processing, U.S. soybean oil inventories recovered only slightly, by 1% compared to the previous month, but remain 8% below the July 2024 level. This reflects a steady increase in domestic soybean oil consumption, which reached an 8-month high of 1.1 million tons in July. NOPA experts note that demand for soybean oil continues to grow, which may affect market prices and logistics in the coming months.
