Ukrainian wheat exports kept falling in December
December exports totaled 495 KMT (-58% from November and -67% from November 2019/20). This was the lowest volume since December 2011, UkrAgroConsult reports.
This season’s exports (July-December) totaled 12.5 MMT (-17% y-o-y).
Indonesia, Bangladesh, and Thailand made no wheat purchases from Ukraine in December. Consequently, the year-on-year decrease in their imports widened by another 11%, 46%, and 9%, respectively.
In addition, a drop occurred in demand from Egypt (-33% y-o-y), Turkey (-42%), the Philippines (-43%), Tunisia (-4%).
Pakistan did not import Ukrainian wheat last year, but this season it is the third biggest importer absorbing 10% of Ukrainian exports.
