Ukrainian ports handled over 5 million tons of grain in May
The seaports of Ukraine handled 8 million 265 thousand tons of cargo in May, which is almost twice as much as in 2023. This is reported by the State Enterprise “Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority”.
Grain became the leader of cargo turnover. They handled 5.3 mln tons (against 3.5 mln tons in 2023). Also, 1.5 million tons of ore cargo were transshipped (against 241 thousand tons last year).
In May, cargo turnover through the Ukrainian corridor amounted to 6.7 million tons, of which 4.5 million tons were products of Ukrainian farmers.
In total, in January-May 2024, Ukrainian ports handled almost 46 million tons. In the same period last year, 26.6 million tons were handled.
