Ukrainian grain exports via the sea corridor exceeded 70 mln tons

In Ukraine, 385 port infrastructure facilities have been destroyed or damaged since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, which negatively affects the stability of the ports.
This was stated by Deputy Minister of Community and Territorial Development of Ukraine Andriy Kashuba during a meeting in Odessa with the Secretary-General of the International Maritime Organization (IMO) Arsenio Dominguez, the press service of the Ukrainian ministry reports.
According to him, in conditions of war and daily shelling of infrastructure, Ukraine not only supports the operation of its ports, but also plays a key role in ensuring global food security.
The parties also discussed the problems of maritime shipping during the war and the importance of the work of the Ukrainian Sea Corridor, which not only ensures stable maritime exports, but also supports the operation of ports, becoming an important element of the country’s economic stability.
“The Ukrainian Sea Corridor is a critically important route for global food security. “Despite the war, Ukraine has already transported over 70 million tons of grain, ensuring food supplies to Africa, Asia, and Europe. This is not just the economy — it is the lives of millions of people who depend on the Ukrainian harvest,” the Deputy Minister noted.
Further development of the grain sector in the Black Sea and Danube region will be discussed at the 23 International Conference BLACK SEA GRAIN.KYIV on April 24 in Kyiv.
