Ukrainian corn exports to China jumped in October

Ukrainian exporters shipped to foreign markets 1.84 MMT of corn in October (-20% from October 2019/20 and tens times higher than in September), UkrAgroConsult reports. 1.87 MMT has been shipped abroad since the beginning of the season (-25% on the year).
October witnessed the start to brisk exports to China – 721 KMT, with its share up at 38%.
The EU keeps the lead among importers of Ukrainian corn, but its share closed October down at 44% with 12% lower shipments than at the same time last year.
Apart from the EU, the following countries decreased their demand for the Ukrainian product: Egypt (-89%), Libya (-37%), Tunisia (-79%), Georgia (-33%).
Other importing countries increased purchases, specifically: China (fourfold), the United Kingdom (+59%), Lebanon (+63%).
