Ukraine. Winter grains featured high viability

Variable weather with significant amounts of rain and sleet was seen on January 21-31. The present abnormally high air temperatures, if last for more than ten days, may reduce hardiness of winter grains depending on the temperature gradient.
The crops are dormant, but slight signs of growing processes may begin appearing in winter grains if the temperature increase continues.
As of January 26-27, winter grains featured high viability, with the portion of viable plants equaling 94-97% in soft winter wheat; 94-98% in triticale; and 96-99% in rye. Winter grains are in good and fair condition, UkrAgroConsult reports.
