Ukraine. Winter grains are in fair and good condition
Crop condition: Variable weather was observed on March 1-10. An air temperature increase during the first five days caused snow cover to melt in most of the country. Since March 6, night air temperature has bottomed out at -8…-13ºC. Minimum soil temperature at the tillering node depth for winter wheat has not fallen below -6 ºC that is far higher than the killing temperature level. There is actually no snow cover in the fields – it only remains under windbreak forest belts and in ground depressions (5-7 cm). Winter grains in most fields are in fair and good condition, UkrAgroConsult reports.
Moisture supply: Precipitation in the form of drizzle, rain, sleet, and snow occurred during 2-5 days (2-8 mm).
