Ukraine. Winter crops were in shallow dormancy
Weather conditions. On December 1-10, the weather was mostly warm, variable, with light snowfalls and frequent fogs.
Moisture supply. Precipitation events in the form of drizzle, fog, rain, sleet and snow occurred almost all over the country during 1-3 days (even for 5 days in the Carpathian mountains). On average, the majority of its regions received 31 to 69% of normal precipitation rates for these ten days (4 to 14 mm). Towards December 10, the soil freeze depth in many parts of the northern regions and some parts of the western and central ones ranged from 1 to 10 cm, locally reaching 11-18 cm. The soil in the south, east and occasionally in the western and central regions was thawed.
Crop condition. On December 1-10, winter crops were in shallow dormancy as daytime air temperatures increased to +5-13°С. Slow growth and elongation of plants was observed in the south, reports UkrAgroConsult.
