Ukraine. Weather conditions are unfavorable to start planting of winter crops
Weather conditions. Warm, hot weather with no significant precipitation dominated the country on September 11-13.
Moisture supply. In winter crops and in the fields intended for them, productive moisture content in the topsoil (0-20 cm) was poor, at most at 10 mm. In many areas in Odesa, Mykolaiv regions and in single areas across Zaporizhia, Dnipropetrovsk, Kirovohrad, Poltava and Kharkiv regions this soil layer was absolutely dry.
Crop condition. Weather conditions in 2019 are unfavorable to start planting of winter crops. Air and soil drought has been persisting since the beginning of September. High daytime air temperatures, the lack of precipitation, low relative air humidity, dry winds hampered the accumulation of soil moisture in areas intended for planting winter crops, reports UkrAgroConsult.
