Ukraine spring sowing area revised down
Ukraine’s agriculture ministry has revised down its 2023 spring sowing area to around 13.5 million hectares from the previous 14 million hectares, said first deputy agriculture minister Taras Vysotskiy on Tuesday.
“We see the area at around 13.5 million hectares. We have failed to demine a large area for the sowing,” he told, referring to the demining of territory taken back from Russian forces. He said farmers would sow less sunflower and soybean than had been expected.
