Ukraine. Reni accepts vessel with record deadweight for Danube ports

Today, on June 14, the bulk carrier BLUE GATE with a record deadweight of 24,000 tons is being loaded at the Port of Reni. For the Danube ports, this is the first dry bulk carrier of this capacity in the history of independent Ukraine, the press service of the Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority (USPA) reported.
The first call of a vessel of record deadweight for the ports of the Danube region is another proof of the effectiveness of the steps taken by the USPA together with business and the Ministry of Communities, Territories and Infrastructure of Ukraine to develop the infrastructure of the Danube cluster ports.
Increasing the fleet tonnage and intensity of ship calls, further technical re-equipment of facilities are necessary steps towards increasing transshipment volumes by the ports of the Danube region.
According to preliminary data, in 2023, investments in infrastructure projects of ports on the Danube will exceed USD 110 million.
