Ukraine plans to export 700 thsd tons of sugar in MY 2025/26

The Ministry of Agrarian Policy held a meeting with representatives of the sugar industry of Ukraine, chaired by Minister Vitaliy Koval. The meeting was attended by First Deputy Minister Taras Vysotsky, State Secretary Oleksandr Biryukov, heads of structural units, representatives of the Ministry of Economy and specialized associations.
The participants of the meeting discussed the issue of sugar exports this year.
Vitaliy Koval emphasized that sugar is a value-added product, and its production and export play an important role in the development of the Ukrainian agricultural sector.
The Minister noted that this year more than 217 thousand hectares of sugar beet have already been sown. Since the beginning of the year, Ukraine has already exported almost 200 thousand tons of sugar, and in the next marketing year 2025/2026, the plan is to export 700 thousand tons of sugar.
Vitaliy Koval also called on sugar producers to develop such areas of agroprocessing as biogas, bioethanol, biomethane, and the livestock industry.
