Ukraine managed to increase its share in the EU rapeseed meal market to 20%
In July-March of 23/24 MY, Ukraine managed to increase its share in the EU rapeseed meal market to 20% (137 thsd tons). At the same time, Russia and Belarus together covered 70% of the EU’s needs, ASAP reports.
According to the European Commission, the total supplies of rapeseed meal from Russia and Belarus to the EU in July-March 2024 amounted to about 0.5 mln tons.
After several months of consideration, the EU approved the increase in tariffs on grain, oilseeds and processed products from Russia and Belarus, which will come into force on July 1, 2024.
“This raises the question of who will take over this huge share in the new season,” analysts say.
