Ukraine is working to open the US market for poultry meat
A technical online meeting on the opening of the American market for domestic poultry meat and products was held between representatives of the State Service for Food Safety and Consumer Protection of Ukraine and the US Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS).
This is another step in the procedure for considering Ukraine’s request for recognition of the equivalence of the state control system in the field of poultry product safety with US requirements, the State Service for Food Safety and Consumer Protection reported.
The American side is currently analyzing materials and information from Ukrainian colleagues.
During the online discussion, the focus was on key elements of the functioning of the inspection system, veterinary and sanitary control, and the organization of supervision at potential exporting enterprises.
Following the meeting, the parties will expand information interaction, which will facilitate a prompt response to Ukraine’s request, as well as support ongoing consultations and data exchange.
