Ukraine is ready to find a balance in agricultural policy to avoid creating fears for farmers in Poland and the entire EU – Kachka
Ukraine expects its EU partners to be able to make a political commitment and accept it into the bloc. This is not a substitute for the negotiation process, Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration Taras Kachka told reporters on the sidelines of YES, organized by the Victor Pinchuk Foundation, LB correspondent reports.
The fixed date for accession is a symbol that the accession negotiations will be concluded positively. According to the Deputy Prime Minister, this is possible as early as next year.
“This requires the European Union and the member states to double-triple frontloading some processes – to do them in parallel. This also means quite intense demands on us – the parliament and the government – to implement those things that we still have to implement before accession or after accession. But the more we implement before – the better the conditions for accession will be,” he said.
According to Kachka, the main thing is not the date that politicians discuss, but what they invest. Ukraine is ready to find a balance, in particular, in agricultural policy, in order to satisfy EU members, including Poland.
“We are ready to find balances that allow us not to create any obstacles and even fears for Polish or French and generally all EU farmers,” he said.
In terms of the rule of law, according to the government official, Ukraine is doing a lot.
Ukraine wants to start working with EU members in March in order to hear their positions.
