Ukraine. Hot and wet weather promotes large-scale development of weeds and diseases
Weather conditions. Variable weather with significant swings in daily air temperature was observed on July 11-24.
Moisture supply. Cold spells in some regions were accompanied by rains of various intensity, thunderstorms, hail, and squalls. The highest precipitation rates were reported in Sumy, Kharkiv, Luhansk, Rivne, and Lviv regions – 34-64 mm (152-212% of ten-day normal). The lowest one was in Mykolaiv region – 2 mm.
Crop condition. Winter and spring spiked cereals reached full ripeness of grain, their harvest continues. Hot, wet weather promotes large-scale development of weeds, diseases and pests in crops. Ear diseases are observed in some winter grain fields, UkrAgroConsult reports.
