Ukraine harvested 4 mln tons of grain
As of July 9, Ukrainian farmers harvested more than 4 million tons of grain and legumes.
Taras Vysotsky, acting Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine, said this on TV, the ministry’s press service reports on Telegram.
“Winter barley, wheat, and rapeseed are being harvested now. In some regions, peas have been harvested. We can now say that more than 4 million tons have been harvested so far. The figure is increasing every day,” he said.
Mr. Vysotsky noted that the harvest is proceeding at a fairly active pace despite the shelling.
“The yield of winter barley and wheat is 5-7% lower than last year. But this is a preliminary result,” said the acting minister, noting that the decrease in yields in the east of the country is offset by better performance in the central and western regions.
