Ukrainian farmers have already sown 3.6 million hectares of winter cereals
Sowing of winter crops is still ongoing. Currently, 3.6 million hectares, or 76% of the forecast, have been sown, the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine reports.
- Wheat was sown on 3.1 million hectares, or 79%.
- Barley – 390 thousand hectares, or 58%.
- Rye – 74 thousand hectares, or 86%.
During the previous week, 836,000 hectares of winter crops were sown for grain. Among the agricultural leaders of the Mykolaiv Region and Odesa Region, they planted nearly 150,000 hectares each.
Kyiv Oblast and Chernihiv Oblast completed sowing of winter grain crops, 141,000 and 131,000 ha were sown there, respectively. Ternopil Region, Khmelnytskyi Region and Poltava Region are close to completion.
Agricultural producers of all regions of Ukraine completed the sowing of winter rape, which was sown on 999,000 hectares, or 104% of the forecast.
