Ukraine. Dryness and high air temperatures led to a further decrease in soil moisture content
Weather conditions. Dry weather with abnormally high air temperatures for this time and frequent dense fogs was observed after October 20. The average ten-day air temperature in many regions of the country turned out to be the highest on record.
Moisture supply. The majority of the regions received no precipitation, or its rates were at most 1-4 mm. dryness and high air temperatures led to a further decrease in soil moisture content, but the topsoil in many areas still retained little moisture due to local heavy fog and morning dew, reports UkrAgroConsult.
Crop condition. In view of abundant heat supply on October 11-25, winter crops grow and develop actively in areas that accumulated sufficient and optimum moisture amounts during rainfall on October 1-10.
