Ukraine doubles flour exports
The export of flour from Ukraine in 2022/23 MY as of May 31 amounted to 141.5 thsd tonnes, which is twice as much as last season on the same date (71 thsd tonnes). This is evidenced by the data of the State Customs Service, published by the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine.
At the same time, Ukraine exported 45.3 mln tonnes of grains and pulses, which is 4% less than last season.
Thus, since the beginning of the season, Ukraine has shipped 15.4 mln tons of wheat, which is 17% lower than last year.
Barley supplies to foreign markets amounted to 2.6 mln tons (-53%).
Also, 17.9 thousand tons of rye were exported, which is significantly less than last year’s 161.9 thousand tons.
Corn was exported in the amount of 26.9 mln tonnes, which is 20% more than the same date last season.
For reference, in 2021/22 MY the exports of grains and pulses totaled 48.6 mln tonnes: wheat – 18.7 mln tonnes, barley – 5.8 mln tonnes, rye – 161.5 thsd tonnes, corn – 23.5 mln tonnes, flour – 70.9 thsd tonnes.
