Ukraine considers resuming exports of meat and meat products to China
The possibility of resuming and establishing exports of Ukrainian meat and meat products to China was discussed during a meeting of the working group on the development of the meat industry chaired by Taras Vysotsky, First Deputy Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine.
“We had a special meeting with specialized associations and representatives of the State Service of Ukraine for Food Safety and Consumer Protection before the Ukrainian official delegation’s trip to China, where we will discuss the details of cooperation in terms of exporting our meat, in particular pork. It is important for us to discuss all the details between market participants so that this issue can be resolved effectively,” said Taras Vysotskyi.
For Ukrainian exporters of poultry, beef and pork, China is one of the most attractive markets. This is confirmed by the fact that the largest number of applications from our meat exporters today relate to the Chinese market. Cooperation in beef exports was suspended due to the Covid and the war. Now there is a certain warming in trade relations between Ukraine and China, and the list of our beef and pork exporters continues to expand. Poultry exports are also on the agenda.
Currently, we have exchanged key issues with the Chinese customs in preparation for bilateral meetings between the two countries that will take place in the near future.
