Ukraine becomes the second largest exporter of flour to the EU
Ukraine has become the second largest supplier of flour to the EU after the UK, although the volume of supplies decreased in 2022. This is stated in a new review of the flour market.
It is noted that the volume of flour exports to Ukraine reached a peak over the past 5 years in 2018-2019. In 2019, exports amounted to 365 thsd tonnes, which resulted in $93 thsd.
In 2022, Ukraine exported $10,917 thousand worth of flour to the EU. In total, the revenue from flour exports last year amounted to $24,235, the lowest amount since 2018.
Among the countries that became the largest sales markets in 2022, the top ones are the EU countries, namely Poland, Romania, Croatia, Hungary and Slovakia, as well as the Republic of Moldova. In 2022, Moldova became the largest market for Ukrainian flour with exports of USD 6,183 thousand and 21 thousand tons of products.
